What Our Patients Think

Du Toit Orthopaedics Inc.

Hi. My name is Kees van Meygaarden, aged 75. I had my left leg amputated below the knee in August 2017. This procedure was a last resort to solve an infection problem. The infection was caught during the many operations on my foot and knee I had done over the past 10 years. I met Juandre in October 2017 and was very impressed by his youth and vigour, and the way he tackled the process of fitting me with prosthesis.

The first prosthesis was fitted in November 2017 and this was followed by four other fittings and new temporary prosthesis.

Nothing was too much trouble for Juandre; he even visited me on numerous occasions at my home, when I had a problem. He is well qualified and has recently started his own practice, which will be a success due to the personal service he gives to all his patients.

I now have a new skin coloured prosthesis which fits perfectly and should last for a fair length of time. My alignment is monitored constantly and adjusted accordingly whenever necessary.

His practice is in the Flora Clinic Precinct, which is very conveniently situated close to the N1 Freeway and the total West Rand area.

I have no problem in recommending Du Toit Orthopaedics Inc. and Juandre as a Prosthetic Specialist and wish him well into the future with his new venture.

My name is Janice van Meygaarden. After 10 long years of being in and out of hospital my husband was scheduled to have his leg amputated below the knee. While we were hopeful that this would be an end to the infections in his body, the thought of coping with one leg was daunting!

Juandre is more than a Prosthetic Specialist! He has supported us emotionally and reassured us then the going was tough. We can never thank him enough for what he has done towards getting my husband mobile again.
